Marcel Noebels made sure his Seattle Thunderbirds ended their losing skid.
Noebels tied the game and scored the overtime winner as Seattle snapped a nine-game losing streak by defeating the Everett Silvertips 3-2 in Western Hockey League action Friday night.
The Thunderbirds staged a spirited third-period comeback.
Trailing 2-0 going into the third, Seattle got a goal from Burke Gallimore just 44 seconds in to get back in the game and Noebels tied it midway through the period.
Then in overtime Noebels put away a rebound on a shot off the rush by Brenden Dillon to give Seattle the win.
Calvin Pickard made 32 saves to earn the win in goal for the Thunderbirds (19-25-9), who pulled themselves out of the Western Conference cellar.
Josh Birkholz and Tyler Maxwell scored, and Kent Simpson stopped 29 shots in goal for Everett (22-23-8), which saw its four-game winning streak come to an end.

At Brandon, Man., the Wheat Kings scored four goals on the power play on their way past Regina.
Mike Ferland, David Toews, Shayne Wiebe, Mark Stone, Matt MacKay, Scott Glennie and Jens Meilleur all scored for Brandon (20-27-8).
Lane Scheidl, Shayne Neigum, Jordan Weal and Garrett Mitchell replied for the Pats (8-27-7).

At Calgary, Alta., Andrej Stastny scored the game-deciding goal in a shootout to lead Vancouver past the Hitmen.
Brendan Gallagher scored twice in regulation for the Giants (29-20-5), who won their third straight game. Michael Burns also scored for Vancouver, while Brendan Rowinski and Spencer Bennett each had two assists.
Justin Kirsch, Misha Fisenko and Trevor Cheek scored in regulation for Calgary (16-34-4), who had built up leads of 2-0 and 3-1.

At Kamloops, B.C., Jordan DePape's power-play goal at 8:10 of the third period gave the Blazers a victory over Chilliwack.
Colin Smith also scored for Kamloops (23-29-3).
Ryan Howse replied for the Bruins (21-26-4).

Winterhawks 5 Oil Kings 2
At Portland, Ore., Nino Niederreiter scored on the power play and a penalty shot, to lead the Winterhawks over Edmonton.
Brendan Leipsic also scored for Portland (35-15-3). Ryan Johansen and Seth Swenson added a pair of empty-net goals to seal the win.
Dylan Wruck and Colton Stephenson replied for the Oil Kings (24-25-4).

Raiders 4 Hurricanes 3
At Prince Albert, Sask., Jordan Rowley had a goal and two assists and the Raiders scored four times in the second period and held on for a win over Lethbridge.
James Bettauer had a goal and an assist for Prince Albert (21-28-5). Charles Wells and Andrew Herle also scored.
Trailing 4-1 entering the third period, Reid Jackson scored 59 seconds in before Russell Maxwell's goal brought the Hurricanes within a goal, but Lethbridge couldn't get the tying goal.
Mitch Maxwell had the other goal for the Hurricanes (17-25-11).

At Prince George, B.C., Troy Bourke's power-play goal in the second period stood as the eventual winner as the Cougars downed Kelowna.
Taylor Stefishen, Charles Inglis and Martin Marincin also scored as Prince George (24-23-3) built a 4-0 lead by the end of the second period.
MacKenzie Johnston and Zak Stebner responded for the Rockets (30-20-0).

At Red Deer, Alta., Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had three goals and three assists as the Rebels defeated Moose Jaw.
Andrej Kudrna also had a six-point game with a goal and five assists for Red Deer (37-13-5). John Persson, with two, Brett Ferguson and Locke Muller had the other goals.
Brett Lyson scored for Moose Jaw (31-19-3).

At Swift Current, Sask., Linden Vey and Tyler Pitlick had two goals each as Medicine Hat defeated the Broncos.
Dylan Busenius and Reid Petryk also scored for the Tigers (33-16-2), who remained fourth in the Eastern Conference.
Taylor Vause scored for Swift Current (23-32-1), which has lost eight straight.

At Kennewick, Wash., Brendan Shinnimin had two goals to power Tri-City past Spokane.
Adam Hughesmand and Paul Sohor each had a goal and an assist for the Americans (33-13-3), which moved into second place in the U.S. Division. Patrick Holland added an empty-net goal.
Blake Gal and Jared Cowen scored for the Chiefs (31-14-6), who have lost two straight -- both to Tri-City.
