{allcanada} SCHENN HAS FIVE-POINT NIGHT, LEADS BLADES TO WIN OVER KINGS

Brayden Schenn continues to tear it up in the Western Hockey League.

The Saskatoon Blades forward had two goals and three assists Wednesday in a 7-4 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings. He also finished with a plus-5 rating.

Schenn has 18 goals and 48 points in 19 games since being returned to the WHL by the Los Angeles Kings.

Elsewhere, it was: Edmonton Oil Kings 8, Calgary Hitmen 5; Kamloops Blazers 5, Lethbridge Hurricanes 4 in overtime; Kelowna Rockets 3 Medicine Hat Tigers 2 in a shootout; Moose Jaw Warriors 3, Swift Current Broncos 0; Portland Winterhawks 6, Prince George Cougars 5; Red Deer Rebels 5, Kootenay Ice 4 in a shootout; and Seattle Thunderbirds 5, Spokane Chiefs 1.

In Saskatoon, Jake Trask also scored twice and added two assists for the Blades (47-12-2). Stefan Elliott, Curtis Hamilton and Matej Stransky had the others.

Scott Glennie and Mark Stone replied with two goals each for the Wheat Kings (25-29-8).

Blades goalie Adam Morrison finished with 29 saves while Brandon's Corbin Boes turned aside 22 shots.

Oil Kings 8, Hitmen 5

At Edmonton, Kristians Pelss scored twice while Mark Pysyk and Dylan Wruck added a goal and three assists apiece for the Oil Kings (27-27-7). Justin Kirsch and Kris Foucault had two goals each for the Hitmen (19-38-4).

Blazers 5, Hurricanes 4, OT

At Lethbridge, Alta., Jordan DePape scored at 1:46 of overtime while Dalibor Bortnak had two goals in regulation for Blazers (27-31-4). Brody Sutter had two goals for the Hurricanes (20-29-12).

Rockets 3, Tigers 2, SO

At Medicine Hat, Alta., Colton Sissons had the shootout winner for the (34-25-1). Zach Franko and Shane McColgan scored in regulation. Alex Theriau and Emerson Etem replied for the Tigers (38-17-4).

Warriors 3, Broncos O

At Moose Jaw, Sask., Thomas Heemskerk stopped 30 shots while Matt Grant, Cody Beach and Sebastien Svendsen scored for the Warriors (34-23-4). Mark Friesen made 41 saves for Swift Current (24-38-1).

Winterhawks 6, Cougars 5

At Prince George, B.C., Ryan Johansen's 33rd goal of the season at 9:20 of the third period earned lifted Portland (41-16-3) to the victory. Charles Inglis led the way for the Cougars (28-30-3) with two goals.

Rebels 5, Ice 4, SO

At Red Deer, Alta., Daulton Siwak scored the lone shootout goal while Byron Froese had two goals in regulation for the Rebels (42-14-7). Brayden McNabb, Cody Eakin, Joe Antilla and Max Reinhart replied for Kootenay (39-18-4).

Thunderbirds 5, Chiefs 1

At Spokane, Wash., Dave Sutter registered his first career WHL hat trick while Calvin Pickard stopped 39 shots for Seattle (22-29-9). Anthony Bardaro had the lone goal for the Chiefs (38-17-6).
