{allcanada} Kings acquire Penner from Oilers for prospect, two picks

21

LOS ANGELES -- The Edmonton Oilers rebuild is going to continue without Dustin Penner.

The forward was shipped to the Los Angeles Kings ahead of Monday's deadline for prospect Colten Teubert and two draft picks, including a first-rounder in 2011.

Penner scored 32 goals for the Oilers last season and has another 21 this year in 62 games.

The 28-year-old joined Edmonton in August 2007 on an offer sheet and was often a lightning rod for criticism among the team's fanbase.

He has one year left on his contract at US$4.25 million.

Teubert was selected 13th overall in 2008 and has spent his first pro season with the AHL's Manchester Monarchs.
