CHARLOTTETOWN -- Nova Scotia's Heather Smith-Dacey and Canada's Jennifer Jones both won Tuesday morning at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts to stay in the playoff hunt.
Jones, the defending champion at the Canadian curling championships, bounced back from a loss to P.E.I.'s Suzanne Birt on Monday evening to thrash B.C.'s Kelly Scott 10-2.
Dacey fought back from a 5-2 deficit after five ends to edge Manitoba's Cathy Overton-Clapham 8-7 in an extra end.
Canada and Nova Scotia were 4-2 behind Ontario's Rachel Homan and Saskatchewan's Amber Holland at 5-0. Ontario and Saskatchewan were to meet in the afternoon draw in a battle of the unbeaten teams.
In other games, Quebec's Marie-France Larouche downed Stacie Devereaux of Newfoundland and Labrador 10-6 to sit 3-3. Kerry Galusha of the Territories defeated New Brunswick's Andrea Kelly 7-4. Both teams were 2-4, while Newfoundland dropped to 1-5.
