Taking the Argos to their first playoff appearance since 2007, Jim Barker will be named the CFL's Coach of the Year... Sportsnet Radio THE FAN 590's David Alter has learned.
The official announcement will come down on Friday.
Barker led the Argos to a 9-9 season in his first season returning as Head Coach (first stint a brief one in 1999.)
The Argos combined for seven wins in the previous two seasons, before Barker was appointed the new boss right around this time last year.
Under Barker's watch, the team re-established its run game under RB Cory Boyd and special teams with Chad Owens who was named Special Teams Player of the Year.
