outcome was that unless you have DTS in your car or the DTS is hardware
encoded then it sounds just awful - I cannot listen to DTS for more than 5
minutes. Hardware encoding appears to give a different sound - listen to the
DTS CD's - all hardware encoded I think.
I did a piece on the coding and quite frankly it's MP3, which to me even on
a portable device is horrible. Some of us are just plain sensitive to the
phase anomalies and if you use techniques like you guys use i.e. plogue; it
emphasises the way that plogue splits out the bands - talk to Mugs - I've
been a great supporter of his mixes but could not listen to them in DTS and
that is one of the reasons that Mugs releases now in FLAC.

I can guarantee you that, if the person were to have offered them in any of
those formats, the first question asked would have been "where's my 44.1
DTS?" As someone who's been doing this for close to six years now, I've
stopped worrying about what format others want and have settled on what's
best for me.
