Re: [SurroundSound] Re: DTS-HD Master Audio

Lokks has opined that he can't stand the phase shifting artifacts in DTS encoded audio. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, but looking to learn here. Lokks, can you provide an explanation of how phase-shifting manifests in DTS, and perhaps provide an example? I'm curious as to whether I can hear this if I listen for it, or whether my aging ears are on par with RW's.

I think it's great that DTD-MA is becoming more of  a standard, the
sound quality is fantastic.  However, I have to disagree with
RealAfrica's statement that regular DTS is not "listenable".  Take a
good listen to Junior Wells on "Come On In This House" or Bonnie Raitt
on "Road Tested". I think these releases sound TERRIFIC.  Can someone
please eductae me as to why this level of sound quality is not
listenable?  They damn sure sound better than most CDs and as good as
most everything else I have heard...
