Rookie Trevor Cameron scored twice to spark the Swift Current Broncos to a 4-2 upset win over the Saskatoon Blades in Western Hockey League action Sunday.
It was Cameron's fourth game with Swift Current after joining the Broncos from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Notre Dame Hounds following the Christmas break.
Jordan Peddle scored the winner with his fifth of the season just 50 seconds after Cameron's second of the game. Adam Lowry added an empty-net goal with one second on the clock for his 10th of the year.
Swift Current ended a six game winless streak while improving to 20-22-1, while the Eastern Conference-leading Blades fell to 29-9-1 and had their five-game winning streak stopped.
Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Kootenay 2 Edmonton 1; Prince George 5, Moose Jaw 2; Regina 4, Calgary 3; Prince Albert 5, Red Deer 4; Kamloops 5, Kelowna 1; and Vancouver 6, Chilliwack 2.
At Swift Current, Sask., Broncos netminder Mark Friesen improved to 19-18-0-1 on the season with a 37-save performance.
Saskatoon roared back from a 3-0 deficit with a pair of early third period goals. Josh Nicholls scored his 19th goal on a power play early in the frame. Just under four minutes later later Brent Benson notched his 11th of the season.
Blades overage goaltender Steven Sanford dropped just his third game of the season, falling to 19-3 after yielding three goals on 21 shots.
