NEW YORK -- Former Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Roberto Alomar is heading to Cooperstown.
Alomar and Bert Blyleven were elected to baseball's Hall of Fame today.
They were chosen by the Baseball Writers' Association of America after narrow misses last year.
Alomar was picked on 90 per cent of the ballots. The 12-time all-star helped lead the Blue Jays to World Series titles in 1992 and 1993.
Blyleven was listed on more than 79 per cent of the ballots, above the 75 per cent required for election.
He won 287 games and ranks fifth on the career strikeout list.
The induction ceremony will be held on July 24 in Cooperstown.
