{allcanada} SMITH SCORES SHOOTOUT WINNER AS ATTACK EDGE COLTS

Gemel Smith scored the winner in a shootout as the Owen Sound Attack knocked off the Barrie Colts 7-6 in Ontario Hockey League action on Tuesday evening.
  
Andrew Fritsch, Robby Mignardi, Cameron Brace, Jesse Blacker, Joey Hishon and Liam Heelis scored for Owen Sound (22-11-2), which has defeated Barrie in all four head-to-head contests this season.

Heelis, who also had a pair of assists in the game, has now scored 11 of his 33 points this year against the Colts.

Taylor Carnevale had a hat trick for Barrie (6-25-4), while Tanner Pearson, Dalton Prout and Zach Hall added singles.

Steven Beyers put up five assists for the Colts to give him 15 points in his last seven games.

The Colts found success with the man advantage, going 3-for-7 on the night. Owen Sound finished the night at 0-for-3.

Carnevale had one of the power-play markers, giving him a league-high 12 on the season.

Michael Zador, making his first start since being traded to Owen Sound, made 31 saves on the night.

Clint Windsor turned aside 43 shots in defeat.

Scott Wedgewood made 29 saves Tuesday as the Plymouth Whalers beat the Erie Otters 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League play.

Mitchell Heard, with a goal and an assist, Robbie Czarnik, Stefan Noesen and Max Iafrate scored for Plymouth (18-14-2).

Brett Appio and Phil Varone had the goals for Erie (17-17-2), while Ramis Sadikov made 41 saves in defeat.

Plymouth finished 0-for-5 on the power play, while Erie was 0-for-1.
