{allcanada} QMJHL: SHAW NETS HAT TRICK AS EAGLES DEFEAT MOOSEHEADS

Logan Shaw put the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on his shoulders Thursday night.

Shaw completed his hat trick in overtime as the Screaming Eagles dropped the Halifax Mooseheads 5-4 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The 18-year-old winger from Glace Bay, N.S., scored the game-winning goal on the power play, taking advantage of Sawyer Hannay's interference call in the extra period.

Shaw's first goal of the game came as he was killing a penalty midway through the first period.

His second was with the man advantage with 17 seconds left in the middle period.

After 40 games Shaw has 16 goals and 13 assists, easily his most productive season in three years with Cape Breton.

In 2009-10 he scored nine goals and 24 assists in 67 games, and the previous season he had five goals and three assists in 49 games.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Quebec 5 Baie-Comeau 3; P.E.I. 4 Moncton 1; Acadie-Bathurst 5 Saint John 4; Victoriaville 4 Lewiston 1; Shawinigan 3 Chicoutimi 1; Gatineau 4 Drummondville 2; Rimouski 4 Montreal 3 (OT) and Rouyn-Noranda 6 Val-d'Or 4.

At Halifax, Brad Cuzner and Raman Hrabarenka had the other goals for the Screaming Eagles (12-25-3).

Justin Belanger, Travis Randell, Charles Bety and Carl Gelinas responded for Halifax (13-24-2).

Remparts 5 Drakkar 3

At Quebec City, Alexandre Grenier and Jonathan Audy-Marchessault both had a pair of goals as the Remparts sank Baie-Comeau.

Vincent Barnard also scored for Quebec (29-7-3).

Jean-Philippe Caron, Maxim Lamarche and Lukas Cingel were the scorers for the Drakkar (6-25-9).

Rocket 4 Wildcats 1

At Moncton, N.B., Samuel Morneau scored twice, including a short-handed goal, as P.E.I. upset the Wildcats.

Josh Currie and Michael Ortika also scored for the Rocket (18-17-3).

Thomas Flynn opened scoring for Moncton (20-14-4).

Titan 5 Sea Dogs 4

At Bathurst, N.B., Gabriel Levesque and Jonathan Lessard both scored on the power play and added an assist as the Titan topped Saint John.

Jeremie Malouin scored the winner for Acadie-Bathurst (23-14-0) with 2:59 left to play. Jeremie Blain and David Gilbert rounded out the attack for the Titan.

Kevin Gagne, Steven Anthony, Stanislav Galiev and Scott Oke provided the offence for the Sea Dogs (29-4-2).

Tigres 4 Maineiacs 1

At Lewiston, Maine, Guillaume Goulet had a pair of goals as Victoriaville skated past the Maineiacs.

Philip-Michael Devos scored and added two assists for the Tigres (19-17-3), while Pierre-Luc Pelletier added some insurance with an empty-net goal.

Jess Tanguy was the lone scorer for Lewiston (25-13-2).

Cataractes 3 Sagueneens 1

At Chicoutimi, Que., Benjamin Casavant struck twice, including the winner, in Shawinigan's triumph over the Sagueneens.

Ryan Labrie had the other goal for the Cataractes (21-12-3).

Steve Lebel opened scoring for Chicoutimi (14-17-7).

Olympiques 4 Voltigeurs 2

At Gatineau, Que., Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored twice as the Olympiques sailed past Drummondville.

Christian Ouellet and Tye McGinn also scored as Gatineau (24-11-4) built a 3-0 lead by the third period and never looked back.

Andrew Randazzo and Simon Tardif-Richard replied for the Voltigeurs (25-9-5).

Oceanic 4 Juniors 3 (OT)

At Rimouski, Que., Jarrad Struthers scored the power-play winner in overtime to lift the Oceanic over Montreal.

Alex Emond, Michael Beaudry and Jerome Gauthier-Leduc had goals in regulation time for Rimouski (20-18-2).

David Rose's goal with 32 seconds left to play forced the extra period for the Juniors (27-5-6). Philippe Lefebvre and Jean-Christophe Laflamme also found the back of the net.

Huskies 6 Foreurs 4

At Val-d'Or, Que., Jonathan Bonneau had the game-winning goal and added some insurance with an empty netter as Rouyn-Noranda prevailed over the Foreurs.

Jerome Raymond, Jessyko Bernard, Antoine Quevillon and Jeremi Janneteau also tallied for the Huskies (6-30-3).

Nicolas Larocque-Marcoux had a pair of goals for Val-d'Or (15-20-3), while Olivier Archambault and Matthieu Theriault also scored.
