TORONTO -- Hamilton Tiger-Cats slotback Arland Bruce III, who had a record-tying performance in a loss to Saskatchewan, was a unanimous selection Tuesday as the CFL's offensive player of the week.

Bruce had a CFL record-tying 16 catches for 272 yards and two TDs in a 37-24 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The 272 yards receiving was the sixth-highest total registered in a single contest.

Saskatchewan kicker Luca Congi was also a unanimous selection for the special-teams honour. Congi booted a career-high seven field goals against Hamilton, finishing one short of the league record. He also added two converts, giving him 23 points for the game to tie a personal best.

Saskatchewan slotback Andy Fantuz was named the top Canadian. Fantuz had eight catches for 100 yards, his sixth career 100-yard contest.

B.C. Lions cornerback Davis Sanchez was also considered for the honour.

Edmonton defensive back Chris Thompson was the defensive player of the week after registering two interceptions and two tackles in leading the Eskimos to a 28-25 victory over the B.C. Lions. The win was the club's first of the season and Thompson has recorded an interception in four straight games.

Saskatchewan defensive back Lance Frazier was a finalist for the award.
