TORONTO -- Canadian women's hockey star Hayley Wickenheiser says the 2014 Sochi Olympics will be her last as a player on the national team.
She made the announcement today at the world hockey summit.
The 32-year-old forward has been a member of the Canadian women's team for 17 years.
She was captain of the Olympic team that won gold at the 2010 Vancouver Games.
Wickenheiser is the keynote speaker in the summit's morning session at a downtown Toronto hotel.
They are examining what steps need to be taken to grow the competitive environment and strengthen the women's game.
