Daymond Langkow has been cleared for light skating, five months after a puck fractured a vertebrae at the base of his neck. According to the Calgary Sun, it's still possible Langkow will be ready for training camp.
"It's hard to say exactly a timeline on it, but I think we're hoping that it's ready for camp," his agent Nathan Zaseybida told the Sun. "Over the last couple of weeks, he¹s had big improvements and that's pretty typical with the injury."
Calgary assistant GM Jay Feaster told the paper that Langkow isn't lifting weights or taking any contact as he continues his recovery. "We remain optimistic as progress continues to be made,"Feaster said.
Despite hopes to get him back in time for camp, neither side is rushing anything.
"Everyone's being kind of extra cautious and making sure everything's 100 percent before we put him back on the ice taking contact," Zaseybida said.
