The Montreal Alouettes will have to wait at least another week to get Anthony Calvillo back in the lineup.
Calvillo, who suffered a bruised sternum last week, has ruled himself out of next week's game against the B.C. Lions. The Alouettes are currently on a bye week and Calvillo will be re-evaluated on Monday.
The veteran quarterback says he has experienced gradual improvement each day since the hit and he took a major step forward on Friday when he was able to fully rotate his upper body and mimic a throwing motion.
There are no signs of lingering damage but the main issue is dealing with the pain in his chest.
During competitive team drills on Friday, back-up Chris Leak took the majority of the snaps, followed by Adrian McPherson. However, Ricky Santos will back up Leak against the Lions and McPherson will stay on the 9-Game Injured List for his full duration. He is eligible to return after next week's game.
In other injury news, Avon Cobourne did not take reps in practice due to the lingering tenderness in his ankle.
