WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released linebacker Ike Charlton on Monday, a decision that was a few games in the making.
"At this time we felt that it was best to move in a different direction in regards to our linebackers," Joe Mack, the Bombers' vide-president and general manager of football operations, said in a statement.
Charlton, 32, joined the Bombers in 2005 and played 60 regular-season games, four playoff games and one Grey Cup.
He posted 22 defensive tackles this season, and one interception during his Bombers career.
