CALGARY - Calgary Flames general manager Darryl Sutter believes Olli Jokinen can produce more offence for less money in his second stint with the team.
Sutter signed the big Finnish centre on Thursday just five months after trading him to the New York Rangers.
Jokinen signed a US$6-million, two-year deal. When he was traded, he was making $5.25 million in the final year of his contract.
The 31-year-old had 19 goals and 31 assists in the 75 games he played for Calgary in 2008-09 and 2009-10.
Sutter says the acquisition of playmaker Alex Tanguay can boost the numbers of both Jokinen and captain Jarome Iginla.
Calgary had the NHL's worst offence last season with 204 goals.
