{allcanada} SPORTSNET.CA named Queen's Park GP sponsor

TORONTO -- SPORTSNET.CA has been named the title sponsor for the 2010 Queen's Park Grand Prix. The premier bicycle event, which will be held on Sept. 19, features three distinct races involving top professional and amateur teams from across Canada and the U.S.

"We are proud to be the title sponsor of this great event that brings elite racing back to Canada's largest city," said Claude Galipeau, senior vice-president and general manager, Digital Media, Rogers Media. "Our sponsorship ensures that the SPORTSNET.CA Queen's Park Grand Prix becomes one of the premier events in the 2010 cycling calendar.

"This event will be available for viewing online, connecting cyclists across Canada and the world to Ontario's crown jewel of racing."

The first race of the three, which will take place on the roads circling Queen's Park in Toronto, will be a 45-minute Master's Open Race for amateur men, and will be followed by a 60-km Women's Elite Race and an 85-km Men's Pro-Am Race, the premier invitation-only event attracting world-class cyclists.
