The impaired driving trial for Edmonton Oilers goalie Nikolai Khabibulin that was scheduled to start Wednesday in Scottsdale, Ariz., was postponed another two weeks.

Khabibulin, 37, faces speeding and impaired driving charges. The docket at the court in Scottsdale was full so the trial was put over until July 21, according to a court document obtained by CBC News.

Khabibulin was pulled over by police in Scottsdale in the early hours of Feb. 8.

A test conducted by police revealed his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.

The Oilers signed Khabibulin to a four-year contract worth $15 million in July 2009.

In November, he stopped playing because of back problems, which were later diagnosed as a herniated disk. He had surgery in January.
