VANCOUVER -- The home of the Vancouver Canucks is getting a new name.
The team's arena will no longer be known as GM Place after the naming rights agreement between the Canucks and General Motors of Canada expired.
A news conference is planned for later today where the new name will be announced.
The arena has been known as GM Place since it opened in 1995.
Besides hockey the building also hosts concerts.
Both the men's and women's Olympic gold medal hockey games were also played there.
GM will continued to be involved with the Canucks with in-arena promotions.
