TORONTO -- Pan Am Games organizers are holding out hope that Hamilton can decide where to locate a new multimillion-dollar stadium.
The city and the owner of the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats have been at an impasse over the issue, with a July 8 deadline looming.
Organizers have previously said they would look at other venue options if a deal can't be reached.
Pan Am Games CEO Ian Troop says he's confident Hamilton will be an "important part of our Games in 2015."
Troop made the comments today after announcing the senior management team for the Games -- to be held in Toronto and surrounding areas -- which consists of five people from various business backgrounds.
Toronto won the bid to host the Games after eliminating two other South American cities, Lima and Bogota, last November.
The two-week Pan Am Games have a budget of $1.4 billion for the sporting event itself and $1 billion for an athletes' village.
The win was an important one for Toronto -- a city that has lost two Olympic bids -- and Hamilton, which also lost bids for two Commonwealth Games.
