After allowing six goals in its first two matches of the Major League Soccer season, Toronto FC is making an addition to the backline.
The Athletic's Tom Bogert reports the Reds are finalizing a loan deal with Brazilian side Fortaleza for Chile centre-back Benjamin Kuscevic.
Bogert notes the loan will come with a purchase option.
A 29-year-old native of Santiago, Kuscevic made 20 appearances for Fortaleza in 2025, his sixth season in Brazil. Kuscevic previously spent time with Cortiba and Palmeiras, with whom he won a league title and two Copas Libertadores. Internationally, Kuscevic has been capped 14 times by Chile since his senior debut in 2018.
Still looking for their first win of the season, TFC returns to action on Sunday with a visit to FC Cincinnati.
