The Vancouver Canucks have placed goaltender Thatcher Demko on long-term injured reserve . Defenceman Pierre-Olivier Joseph was placed on injured reserve retroactive to March 2.

Demko, 30, underwent hip surgery in January and was previously ruled out for the season.

Joseph, 26, sustained an upper-body injury in Monday's 6-1 loss to the Dallas Stars.

Demko had an 8-10-1 record this season with an .897 save percentage and 2.90 goals-against average.

He signed a three-year, $25.5 million extension with the Canucks this summer that will keep him with the team through the 2028-29 season.

Joseph has one goal and five points in 24 games this season, his first with the Canucks. In 218 career NHL games with the Canucks, Penguins, and St. Louis Blues, he has nine goals and 45 points.
