{allcanada} TFC acquires Argentine forward Janson on loan

Toronto FC has added to its offensive ranks.

The team announced its capture of Lucas Janson on loan from Argentine side Tigre using Targeted Allocation Money.

Janson, 23, has spent the last eight seasons at the Buenos Aires-based side.

"Lucas is a young, dynamic player that has the ability to play out wide, up front and centrally as an attacking midfielder," TFC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a statement. "We wanted to bring in a player that gives us multiple options in the attack and Lucas fits that need. We are excited to bring him in on loan and get him integrated into the group."

Janson has made 82 appearances for Tigre, scoring 10 goals and adding 10 assists. He will be officially added to the team's roster upon receiving international clearance and acquiring a Canadian work permit.

TFC is next in action on Wednesday night when they visit the Vancouver Whitecaps in the first leg of the Canadian Championship at BC Place.

They return to MLS play on Sunday when they host New York City FC at BMO Field.
