TAMPA -- The Pacific Division won the 2018 Honda NHL All-Star Game by defeating the Atlantic Division 5-2 in the final of the 3-on-3 tournament at Amalie Arena on Sunday.
The Pacific all-stars will split the $1 million prize. They won 5-2 against the Central Division in the first game.
Anaheim Ducks forward Rickard Rakell had three points in the final on two goals and an assist. Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau, Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty and Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser also scored for the Pacific.
Gaudreau, Doughty and Boeser each had an assist too. Los Angeles Kings center Anze Kopitar had two assists.
Boeser, a rookie, was named MVP of the All-Star Game. He also had a goal in the first game.
Detroit Red Wings defenseman Mike Green had two goals for the Atlantic Division. Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand had two assists.
Gaudreau extended the Pacific's lead to 4-1 at 1:52 of the second period when he squeezed a shot between Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price's pads.
Green cut the lead to 4-2 with his second goal, a high glove-side shot from the right circle off a 2-on-1 with Marchand at 3:26.
Rakell scored his second at 7:24 to bring the lead back to three goals at 5-2.
Doughty gave the Pacific a 3-1 lead at 8:35 of the first period with a one-timer from above the hash marks off a pass from Kopitar.
The Atlantic had a one-minute power play 14 seconds later, when Gaudreau was called for tripping Marchand, who faked an injury and then mimicked searching for blood on his face. The Atlantic couldn't score on the power play and Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy had to deny Gaudreau on a breakaway at the buzzer to end the period.
Rakell scored 59 seconds into the first period on a rebound of Kopitar's shot and Boeser made it 2-0 at 5:05, when he scored off the rebound of Gaudreau's shot.
Green scored the Atlantic's lone goal of the first period at 6:08.
