Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott‘s Big Mistakes is set to continue on Netflix.
The series scored a Season 2 renewal, revealed during the streamer’s upfront presentation on Wednesday, just over a month after the first eight episodes debuted on April 9.
Additionally, Levy has signed a new series first look deal with Netflix. This succeeds his previous first look feature and overall scripted deals, under which he has written and produced for the streamer since 2021.
“Very grateful and beyond excited to continue the Big Mistakes adventure and my creative collaboration with Netflix. Season 2 is already in the works and it’s going to be WILD. I can’t wait to get it out there
to everyone as soon as humanly possible,” Levy said in a statement.
Created and executive produced Levy and Sennott, Big Mistakes follows Nicky (Levy) and Morgan (Taylor Ortega), two deeply incapable siblings who are in over their heads when a misguided theft for their dying grandmother accidentally pulls them into the world of organized crime. Blackmailed into increasingly dangerous assignments, they clumsily fail upwards, sinking deeper into chaos they’re ill-equipped to handle.
Big Mistakes was the first series from Levy’s prior overall television deal with Netflix and marks his second original scripted series following the success of the Emmy-winning show Schitt’s Creek. Levy made his feature directorial debut as part of his creative partnership with Netflix in 2023 with Good Grief, which he also wrote and starred alongside Ruth Negga, Himesh Patel and Luke Evans.
Levy also serves as showrunner for Big Mistakes. Anne-Marie McGintee executive produces for Not a Real Production Company, along with Dean Holland (Eps 101, 102), Etan Frankel and Timothy Greenberg.
