Vancouver Canucks defenceman Tyler Myers is expected to make the trip to Seattle for Saturday's game against the Kraken, according to TSN's Farhan Lalji.

This comes after Myers sat out Wednesday night against the Winnipeg Jets for trade related reasons amid ongoing trade talks. He last played on Feb. 4, prior to the Olympic break.

With a full no-move clause, Myers controls his destiny and it appears he is not interested in waiving it for a move to the Detroit Red Wings, who TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported Thursday made an offer to the Canucks this week.

"I think at this point in time, (Detroit is) not necessarily a place that Myers is looking to go, but that doesn't mean he's not going to be moved here before the deadline," TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston divulged later in the day.

"There's still lots of time, and I think he's inclined to wait to see if perhaps some other teams step up and try to make a deal with the Canucks. The Stars, for example, are a team that are known to have some interest in him, and I believe he'd like to play there if that could work out.

"Really, the onus is on the Canucks right now to come up with something to get him to waive that no-movement clause. In the meantime, it's a waiting game."

TSN's Ryan Rishaug reported Thursday the Edmonton Oilers are not among the suitors for Myers.

Myers has appeared in 57 games this season for the Canucks and has a goal with seven assists.

The 36-year-old is in his seventh season with Vancouver after joining the team as a free agent in 2019 and is currently playing on a three-year deal that carries a $3 million AAV and expires after the 2026-27 season.

The veteran blueliner's no-movement clause will convert to a 12-team no-trade list this summer.

The Canucks sit last in the NHL with an 18-33-7 record and are on track to miss the playoffs for the fifth time in the past six seasons under first-year head coach Adam Foote this year.
