The Vancouver Canucks have signed one of their young training camp standouts to an NHL deal.
General manager Patrik Allvin announced on Sunday that the Canucks and forward Vilmer Alriksson agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Alriksson, 19, had a breakout season during his first year in the OHL, tallying a personal-best in goals (17) and assists (16) in 67 games with the Guelph Storm. During the Canucks' 2024 training camp, the Swede established himself as a strong, power forward with the ability to contribute offensively.
"Vilmer had a solid training camp and continues to develop and improve," Allvin said in a statement released by the team. "We really like his size, skating ability and skillset and we will continue to monitor his progress and work with him this year to help Vilmer get ready to take another step forward in his hockey career."
The Stockholm native was selected in the fourth round, 107th overall, by the Canucks in the 2023 NHL Draft.
