{allcanada} Lightning sign veteran Corey Perry to two-year contract

If you can't beat them -- twice -- join them.

That's the path Corey Perry has chosen after losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals. The veteran right winger has agreed to a two-year contract with the Lightning, according to Frank Seravalli.

The 36-year-old Perry is coming off back-to-back 21 point seasons with the Montreal Canadiens and Dallas Stars. He had four goals and 10 points in 22 playoff games with the Canadiens this spring.

The Canadiens and Stars both reportedly had shown interest in bringing Perry back to their teams, but a two-year deal with the defending champions proved too good to pass up.

Perry is joining his fourth team in four seasons after being bought out by the Anaheim Ducks in 2019. In 1,094 career games over 16 seasons, Perry has 386 goals and 818 points.
