" The only reason could be to make a standard DVD or DTS-CD."
That is precisely the reason I want to do this. I want to share some surround music with a friend who doesn't have anything that can (easily) play .flac files. It's ok if it's a little lossy, it'll still sound pretty darn good, and it'll let him hear what it sounds like. To be honest I haven't had that easy a time playing .flac files on my system either (the ones I have are mostly as backups). Honestly, playing flac files for many people, particularly on surround sound systems, is still a hassle so I want to make it as easy as possible. Honestly, I still prefer to play actual discs when I can as I find it less of a hassle that way myself, keeping .flacs and .iso's mostly as backups in case something happens to those discs.
Anyway I have a friend who doesn't have an SACD player, and doesn't have a (simple) way to play multichannel .flac files on his surround sound system. So I'd like to take something over to his house some time so he can hear a few albums I know he likes in surround sound, so I want to get them into a format I know will play easily on his system.

A question:--what is the reason to Ddo that? DTS is a lossy format, a disadvantage against FLAC.The only reason could be to make a standard DVD or DTS-CD.

How does one convert multichannel files to DTS? Is there some easy to use windows software that doesn't involve using the command line? Preferably freeware!
Thanks, Ali.
