There will never be another Gordie Howe.

Hyperbole does not apply to the that statement because Howe's career was so unique that it would be near impossible for a hockey player to even attempt to accomplish what "Mr. Hockey" did.

Howe skated in professional hockey over six different decades, which is a feat that is all but guaranteed to stand forever. He played 26 seasons in the NHL, where he topped 30 goals 14 times and failed to score 20 or more just four times.

Although Howe only reached the plateau once in his NHL career, he did so at the age of 40.
