Season series: The Vancouver Canucks will try to remain perfect against the San Jose Sharks this season after winning twice at SAP Center. Ryan Miller allowed three goals on 68 shots in the two victories, and Radim Vrbata had a goal in each game.

Sharks team scope: San Jose begins the night in third place in the Pacific Division, two points ahead of the Canucks, after a 3-1 road loss to the Calgary Flames on Wednesday. John Scott had the Sharks' lone goal early in the third period, but it didn't come until after Calgary had scored three times in the second. "It was a big two points we kind of let go there," Scott said. "We've just got to regroup and get to [Thursday]. It's going to be tough, every game against every team in our division." Alex Stalock made 20 saves; starter Antti Niemi is likely to play against the Canucks after getting the night off.

Canucks team scope: Vancouver has gotten a boost from minor-league call-up Ronalds Kenins, a left wing who has goals in two of his three NHL games. Kenins scored the tying goal in the third period Tuesday against Winnipeg, a gam the Canucks won 3-2 in overtime. Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin and Radim Vrbata all are on three-game point streaks. The Canucks rallied to top the Jets despite going 0-for-6 on the power play; Vancouver is 4-for-42 in its past 12 games. Backup goaltender Eddie Lack played against the Jets; Miller is likely to play against the Sharks.
