Reigning Canadian women's amateur champion and former Team Canada golfer Augusta James has decided to turn pro.

The 21-year-old James was the top-ranked female amateur golfer in Canada and a three-time All-ACC honoree at North Carolina State University.

The Bath, Ontario native was also the runner-up in Canada's Women's Order of Merit last year.

Among her other accomplishments, she won the 2011 Ontario Women's Amateur Championship as well as the 2010 Ontario Junior Girls Championship.
