{allcanada} ARGONAUTS RELEASE RB JOHNSON; EXPECTED TO RELEASE ANDERSON

The Toronto Argonauts have released running back Jeremiah Johnson.

The team confirmed the move Tuesday morning via Twitter.

Johnson, 27, has run for 110 yards in 2014 on 21 carries for an average of 5.2 yards. He also has one touchdown reception amongst the 15 catches he has on the season, averaging 7.5 yards.

He was signed by the Argonauts in January, 2013.

TSN's Farhan Lalji reported early Tuesday that the Argos are expected to make multiple moves today, also including the release of defensive back Dwight Anderson.

Anderson is in his eighth CFL season and was acquired by the Argonauts via trade from the Saskatchewan Roughriders on July 7.

He has 345 career tackles and 19 interceptions over his eight seasons with the Argonauts, Roughriders, Montreal Alouettes, Calgary Stampeders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

He has three tackles this season, all coming with Saskatchewan.
