{allcanada} REPORT: RAPTORS TRADE SALMONS TO HAWKS FOR WILLIAMS, NOGUEIRA

According to a report from Yahoo Sports NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Toronto Raptors have traded guard John Salmons to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Lou Williams and 2013 first-round pick Lucas "Bebe" Nogueira.

The trade will not be made official until tomorrow.

Salmons was acquired by the Raptors in December as part of the blockbuster trade for Rudy Gay. The Raptors received Salmons, Greivas Vasquez and Chuck Hayes in exchange for Gay, Aaron Gray and Quincy Acy.

In 78 games, 34 with the Kings and 34 with the Raptors, the 11-year veteran averaged 5.2 points, 1.9 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 22.1 minutes a game.

The Hawks dump salary in acquiring Salmons. The 35-year-old vet has a partial guarantee on his $7 million salary next season - the final year of his deal - and is owed just $1 million if he's waived before Monday evening. The Raptors were planning to waive Salmons if they couldn't find a suitable trade prior to Monday's deadline. Atlanta will likely do the same.

Salmons has appeared in 874 games over his career with the Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Kings and Raptors.

Lou Williams, a 27-year-old combo guard and nine-year veteran, was one of the premier reserves in the NBA before tearing his ACL in 2013. He averaged a career-high 14.9 points and 3.5 assists in 2011-12, his seventh and last year with the 76ers prior to signing with Atlanta the next season. He's entering the final year of his contract, owed $5.5 million next season.

Nogueira, like the Raptors' latest draft pick Bruno Caboclo, is from Brazil. The Hawks selected the 7-foot centre with the 16th overall pick in last year's draft. He played in Spain this past season and it's unclear whether or not he'll be with the Raptors this coming year.
