The CFL Scouting Bureau released their final prospect rankings ahead of the draft and there are no surprises at the top of the list.
For the third straight time, McGill offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif was ranked first overall. Despite his high ranking, Duvernay-Tardif could see his name fall in the CFL Draft because he has drawn NFL interest this off-season and may find himself south of the border for the start of next season.
Two other offensive linemen – David Foucault and Pierre Lavertu – swapped spots on the latest list and No. 2 and No. 3 with Foucault, a Montreal product, making the jump.
Quinn Smith, a defensive lineman from Concordia, made the biggest jump. Smith wasn't listed in the Winter edition of the Rankings and landed at No. 4 in the Final edition.
Rounding out the Top 5 was Devon Bailey, a wide receiver from St. Francis Xavier, who fell one spot from the previous rankings.
Two prospects who made a splash at the CFL Combine last month saw their stock rise in the Final Rankings. Western defensive lineman Dylan Ainsworth, who provided the most memorable video clip of the weekend blowing up second-ranked Foucault in a blocking drill, jumped eight spots to No. 7.
And Laval defensive back Adam Thibault, who showed off his wheels at the Combine, jumped two spots to No. 11 in the Final Rankings.
The CFL Draft is on May 13 and the expansion Ottawa Redblacks hold the first overall pick.
