The Canadiens have reportedly turned down a trade that would have sent Colorado Avalanche forward P.A. Parenteau to Montreal in exchange for winger Rene Bourque, according to Louis Jean of TVA Sports.

The addition of another player reportedly became a sticking point for Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin, resulting in the dismissal of the deal.
Speculation surrounding a potential trade began Monday when Parenteau was listed as a healthy scratch for Colorado's game against the Dallas Stars.
Parenteau, who signed a four-year, $16 million contract with the Avs in 2012, has struggled to produce this season, notching nine goals and 17 assists in 41 games. Bourque has registered just eight points for the Habs in 39 games this season.
