ANTALYA, Turkey -- Canada sits in a five-way tie for second through two rounds at the Women's World Amateur Team Championship.
Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Ont., Augusta James of Bath, Ont., and Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., combined to card a second round 2-under 142 on Friday at the Gloria Golf Club to leave them at 3 under for the tournament.
That leaves Canada tied with Germany, Japan, Australia and New Zealand at 285, five strokes back of defending champion South Korea.
Henderson, a member of Canada's development squad, and James, a member of Canada's national team, led Canada in scoring Friday with matching scores of 1-under par 71.
Henderson is currently tied for eighth in the individual standings at 2 under, three shots back of co-leaders Hyo-Joo Kim of South Korea and Lydia Ko of New Zealand, who both sit at 5 under.
James is tied for 29th at 1 over, while Kirby is tied for 35th at 2 over.
The total of the two lowest scores from each team make up the team score for that round. The four-day total is the team's score for the championship.
Canada has three runner-up finishes in 23 appearances at the event.
