{allcanada} TIGER-CATS ASK PERMISSION TO INTERVIEW STAMPS' DICKENSON

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have asked the Calgary Stampeders for permission to interview offensive co-ordinator Dave Dickenson for their vacant head coaching position.

The Tiger-Cats fired head coach Marcel Bellefeuille this past week, after the team lost to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Eastern Final.

Dickenson joined the Stampeders coaching staff three years ago after a 13-year professional playing career in the CFL and NFL. In his first season, he was the running backs coach before advancing to quarterbacks coach and calling some offensive plays in his second year.

Earlier this week, the Stampeders lost defensive co-ordinator Chris Jones when he informed head coach John Hufnagel that he was resigning to take the same position with the Toronto Argonauts. The team filed a complaint with the league and the Argonauts were fined $5,000 for tampering.

The Stampeders have asked for permission to interview Edmonton Eskimos assistant head coach Rick Campbell to replace Jones.
