VANCOUVER -- The Canadian Soccer Association plans to have a new coach in place for the national women's team sometime next month.
CSA general secretary Peter Montopoli says an announcement is expected in a September time frame.
The women's team has been without a coach since Carolina Morace resigned suddenly following Canada's disastrous performance at the World Cup in Germany.
The women's team has two matches scheduled against the United States in September. Canada is also sending a women's team to the Pan American Games being held in Mexico in October.
Montopoli was in Vancouver to announce tickets will go on sale for the CONCACAF women's Olympic qualifying tournament on Sept. 9.
The tournament will be held at B.C. Place from Jan. 19 to Jan. 24.
The top-two teams in the eight-team tournament will qualify for the 2012 London Summer Games.
