NEW YORK -- Canada's Frank Dancevic has qualified for the men's main draw at the U.S. Open.
The Niagara Falls, Ont., native defeated Bradley Klahn of the U.S. 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 on Friday.
It's the first time the 26-year-old has made the men's draw at the tournament since 2008.
Elsewhere, Vancouver's Vasek Pospisil defeated France's Charles-Antoine Brezac 6-1, 7-5 to move one win away from the main draw.
Pospisil was set to take on Slovenia's Grega Zemlja later Friday in the final round of qualifying.
Canada's top-ranked men's player is missing out on the tournament. Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., is still recovering from a hip injury suffered at Wimbledon.
Meanwhile on the women's side, Aleksandra Wozniak of Blaineville, Que., downed Switzerland's Stefanie Voegele 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 to move on to the final round of qualifying.
Wozniak was scheduled to face Israel's Julia Glushko later Friday for a spot in the main draw.
Stephanie Dubois failed to make the women's draw after the Laval, Que., fell 7-6 (1), 3-6, 6-1 to Germany's Tatjana Malek.
