[SurroundSound] Re: Advice on HTPC

Another thumbs-up for the ATI 5400 series cards. I got one that had
to be mini-PCIe to fit in my Acer X1200 and it saved the machine.

- I can still use VGA, which I need for 1080p on my TV (the HDMI
inputs are only 1080i).
- I can get bitstreamed HD audio in movies over the HDMI (my one
complaint is you need a proprietary DVI->HDMI adapter that didn't come
in the box)
- Works fine for music playback too.
- Passive no-fan design keeps the machine whisper quiet.

I'm a happy camper
