{allcanada} Battle of the Blades Week 2: Bye Georges!

And there goes the biggest man to ever set foot in figure skates.

Former NHL enforcer Georges Laraque, along with partner Anabelle Langlois, were cut from CBC's Battle of the Blades on Monday night.

"I'm actually kinda happy he doesn't have to pop any more pills to carry on with figure skating," Langlois joked after judges Sandra Bezic, Jeremy Roenick and guest Marie-France Dubreuil decided it was Laraque's time to go.

Indeed, medication likely became gentle giant George's new BFF during the competition. Aside from the usual pains athletes experience, the 6'3" 250-pound Montrealer also had to get stitches for a gash that occurred when his forehead met up with Langlois' skate during a rehearsal a week and a half ago.

But it was painful for all when the ginormous man with the heart of gold was ousted on Monday, after pulling off a number of impressive lifts set to Seal's Kiss from a Rose for Sunday's Bringing Sexy Back-themed performance.

Sadly, he didn't stand a change after he and teeny Langlois - who is literally one-third his size - fell into the Bottom 2 with Isabelle Brasseur and Todd Warriner, who judge Bezic said are "more connected on the ice."

No word on whether Georges will be hanging up his figure skates for good - but when he does, someone had better find the guy a damn strong hook.
