Canadian centre-forward Cyle Larin scored just three minutes into his debut with Southampton in the club's 1-0 win over Watford on Saturday.
Larin powered a header home in the 70th minute on his first touch with the Saints.
"It's a great feeling to score my first goal but it's also great to have a win with that," Larin said to BBC Radio Solent, after the match. "You have to cherish these moments. Since I came to Southampton, the staff and players have been very welcoming which has made it easier for me.
"When you feel good it translates on to the pitch. I've been a lot of places in my career and I think my experience helps me to adapt really quickly, I gel really well with the group.
The goal comes right on time as Canada's second all-time leading scorer continues to make a push for a spot on Canada's World Cup roster.
Larin has 30 goals for the national team, putting him seven goals behind all-time leader Jonathan David, while his 87 national team appearances are tied with Jonathan Osorio for third all-time.
The 30-year-old is under contract with Spain's Mallorca, and was recently on loan with Feyenoord in the Netherlands.
