{allcanada} NHL Training Camp Buzz: Myers out 2-4 weeks for Canucks

Tyler Myers is expected to miss 2-4 weeks with a lower-body injury, Canucks coach Bruce Boudreau said Friday after the defenseman missed a second straight practice.

Myers hasn't been on the ice since a 5-4 preseason win against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday. He had 18 points (one goal, 17 assists) in 82 games last season, and was third among Canucks defensemen in ice time per game (21:25).

Boudreau also said forward Brock Boeser, who had surgery on his hand Sept. 26, is expected to practice in full Sunday and join the team on a season-opening five game road trip that starts at the Oilers on Oct. 12. Boeser, injured in a training camp practice, was originally expected to miss 3-4 weeks but resumed skating soon after surgery.

"He's been out there skating and handling the puck and he's determined to want to try it, so we'll see how it works out at Sunday's practice," Boudreau said.

Forward Ilya Mikheyev, who was listed as week to week after sustaining a lower-body injury Sept 25, is also expected to practice in a non-contact jersey Sunday and join the Canucks on the road trip.
