RED WINGS (29-20-9) at SENATORS (27-26-6)

TV: 7 p.m. ET; TVA Sports, CITY, FS-D, NHL.TV

Season series: The Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators play the last of five games, with Detroit having won three of the first four. They split a home-and-home, with each winning on the road, Oct. 30 and 31. The Red Wings have won the past two, 4-3 in overtime on Nov. 16, and 3-1 on Feb. 10.

Red Wings team scope: Detroit held a meeting before practice Friday after allowing 10 goals in its past two games, including a 6-3 loss at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday. "We all know that we need to be better, but you can't come about your everyday business today and think everything is fine. It's not," forward Justin Abdelkader told the Red Wings website. "Last game was uncharacteristic with some of the mistakes and how we played, and that's got to be better, and obviously that needs to be addressed." Detroit has been outscored 19-8 in a four-game road losing streak. Goalie Petr Mrazek will start after being pulled against the Penguins; he is 2-0-1 with a 1.62 goals-against average in three starts against Ottawa, according to STATS. Forward Dylan Larkin needs one goal to become the first Red Wings rookie to score 20 in a season since forward Henrik Zetterberg in 2002-03.

Senators team scope: Ottawa will try to win a third straight game for the first time since winning four in a row from Nov. 19-25. "You want to build on it, you want to keep things rolling here," forward Chris Neil told the Senators website. "You can't let up, especially this time of year, every point's big. I think we have 16 games left against Eastern Conference teams, so it's a chance to get back in the hunt of things, but you've got to win those games." Goalie Craig Anderson has a 1.23 goals-against average in his past four home starts, including a 4-2 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, but is 0-1-1 with a 4.45 GAA in two games against Detroit, according to STATS. Defenseman Mark Borowiecki, who has missed two games with an upper-body injury, said he feels ready to play but is waiting for medical clearance.
