Tanner Marsh will start Thursday night's game for the Montreal Alouettes against the B.C. Lions.
The Alouettes released their depth chart for the game on Wednesday, which did not list starter Rakeem Cato.
Cato is on the disabled list for a "non-football event or injury." He is currently away from the team to deal with a family matter, according to general manager and interim head coach Jim Popp. The Alouettes are unsure when Cato will return to the team, though he can be activated at any time. Cato could still be activated to the 46-man roster ahead of Thursday's game, though Popp said in that event the team would have to gauge his mental and emotional state before playing him.
Cato suffered a hip injury in the Als' Week 10 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Cato completed four of seven passes in the game for 115 yards and a touchdown before exiting. Marsh completed 11 of 18 passes for 99 yards and an interception in his place. Marsh added 18 yards a rushing touchdown on seven carries.
Brandon Bridge is listed as Marsh's backup for the Thursday night contest.
