Mooseheads 11, Sea Dogs 2

At Halifax, Nathan MacKinnon had three goals and an assist as the Mooseheads (6-1-0) crushed Saint John (4-3-0).

Cataractes 6, Rocket 1 

Josh Currie scored twice and set up another Saturday as the P.E.I. Rocket downed the host Shawinigan Cataractes 6-1 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The 19-year-old has now scored in four straight games and has eight goals in six contests to start the season.

Jimmy Oligny also scored twice for the Rocket (4-2-0) and Louick Marcotte had a goal and an assist.

Victor Provencher had the other goal for P.E.I., while Ryan Graves and Tomas Pavelka each had two assists.

Peter Sakaris scored the lone goal for the Cataractes (2-3-1), who lost for the third time on home ice this season.

Antoine Bibeau made 26 saves for the win. Chase Gaudet allowed four goals on 15 shots through 40 minutes of play.

Marvin Cupper came in for the third period and stopped 15-of-17 shots in relief.

P.E.I. went 1-for-6 on the power play while Shawinigan scored once on nine chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Moncton 7, Baie-Comeau 4; Acadie-Bathurst 2, Chicoutmi 1; Halifax 11, Saint John 2; Gatineau 2, Blainville-Boisbriand 1; Drummondville 2, Victoriaville 1 (OT); Quebec 7, Rimouski 2; and Cape Breton 5, Val-d'Or 3.

At Shawinigan, Que., Oligny opened the scoring for the Rocket 1:50 into the game.

Currie scored at 4:45 and Provencher added another to make it 3-0 P.E.I. after 20 minutes of play.

Oligny scored a power-play goal 2:37 into the second period and Currie registered his second of the game at 7:22 to make it 5-0 heading into the final period.

Marcotte made it 6-0 before Sakaris finally put the Cataractes on the board with a power-play goal at 11:59.

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Dmitri Jaskin and Ryan Penny each scored twice as Moncton (3-4-0) defeated the Drakkar (3-3-0).

At Saguenay, Que., Christophe Lalancette set up both of his club's goals, including Alec Jon Banville's game winner, as Acadie-Bathurst (4-3-1) edged Chicoutmi (3-4-1).

At Gatineau, Que., Martin Reway set up his club's tying goal and then scored the winner with less than five minutes to play as the Olympiques (3-4-0) handed Blainville-Boisbriand (5-1-0) its first loss.

At Drummondville, Que., Jordan Murray scored the winner 2:11 of overtime and Domenic Graham stopped 20 shots as the Voltiguers (4-3-0) defeated Victoriaville (3-3-3).

Remparts 7, Oceanic 2

At Quebec City, Mikhail Grigorenko and Jason Houde each scored twice as the Remparts (7-0-0) kept their perfect record alive by beating Rimouski (4-1-1).

Screaming Eagles 5, Foreaurs 3

At Val-d'Or, Que., Alexandre Lavioe had two goals and two assists and Alex Bureau stopped 32 shots as Cape Breton (2-3-3) downed the Foreurs (1-5-0).
