Last season playing against the Colts in Barrie was one of the toughest draws in the Ontario Hockey League, but no longer.
Andrew Agozzino scored the game-winning goal 6:10 into the third period as the Niagara IceDogs defeated Barrie 4-1 in OHL action Saturday night.
Before the game, the Colts raised their Eastern Conference Champions banner to the rafters, acknowledging last season's run to the league finals.
This season, however, Barrie has lost all three of its home games.
Newly-minted captain Dalton Prout's goal late in the second period snapped an 0-for-15 drought at home on the power play for the Colts.
The game also marked IceDogs head coach and general manager Marty Williamson's return to Barrie, where he led the Colts from 2004 until this past May.
John Chartrand, making his second career start in his home town of Barrie, turned aside 27 shots for Niagara.
