Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Corey Mace has won the 2025 CFL Coach of the Year award.

Mace received the honour over Montreal Alouettes bench boss Jason Maas.

In his second year at the helm, Mace led the Roughriders to a CFL-best 12-6 record to capture the ninth West Division title in franchise history. Saskatchewan led the CFL in points allowed (22.7 per game) and rushing yards allowed (76.0), while also notching the second-best net offence (382.6 yards per game).

This marked the second-straight year Mace was a finalist for the award, losing out to Maas for the 2024 honour after returning the green and white to the playoffs with a 9-8-1 record in his first season steering the ship.

Overall, the 40-year-old has posted a 21-14-1 regular season record and a 3-1 postseason record with the Roughriders while making the playoffs in each of his two seasons thus far, including winning the Grey Cup last season.

Previously, Mace spent two seasons as defensive coordinator for the Toronto Argonauts, helping the team to a Grey Cup in 2022. He also won two Grey Cups with the Calgary Stampeders, once as a player (2014) and once as a defensive line coach (2018).

Mace played for the Stampeders from 2010 to 2015 before retiring and coaching the defensive line. Mace was originally selected by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers out of the University of Wyoming in the second round of the 2007 CFL draft, but played his first three pro seasons with the NFL's Buffalo Bills before joining Calgary.

The Roughriders also claimed the inaugural Ted Goveia Football Operations staff award.

The new annual award, which honours the late Goveia, recognizes club football operations personnel for outstanding achievement in scouting, player identification, roster building and leadership.
